GAMEPLAY:
Police chases have once again been included in specific athletic sessions, where the police use vehicles and ways to prevent the player’s automobile and arrest the player, like in Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2. As players lead faster cars and more and more place confidence in inhaling anesthetic speed boosts, the compound meter currently refills mechanically for the first time since its introduction in Underground, and driving sequences become fast and intense like in the Burnout series. Most Wanted is similar to alternate Need for Speed games in that the player selects one vehicle and races against a time limit or other racers to succeed at a destination. In the town of Rockport, three different areas are available, along with sports weather. Sports events take place during the day, unlike in the Underground, where they happen at night. In lieu of Speed: Underground 2, a thievery Auto-like Free vagabond mode is offered, but it is still limited to Career mode and pursuit-based events in other modes.
